ThemedDessertNational Food DayAmerican5 Ingredients or Less30-minute
Ingredients
- 3 cups coffee ice cream
- 1/2 cup cold brewed espresso or strong coffee
- 1/3 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup thick caramel sauce
- 1/2 cup whipped cream
- 1/4 tsp flaky sea salt
Instructions
- 1Chill two tall milkshake glasses in the freezer for 10 minutes so the shake stays frosty longer after blending.
- 2Add the coffee ice cream, cold espresso, and milk to a high-powered blender; start on low then ramp to high and blend for 20 to 30 seconds until thick, smooth, and pourable but still spoonable.
- 3Stop the blender and drizzle half of the caramel sauce down the inside walls of each chilled glass in a spiral so every sip catches a caramel ribbon.
- 4Pour the blended shake evenly into the prepared glasses, leaving a little headspace at the top for toppings.
- 5Warm the remaining caramel sauce briefly if needed so it drizzles easily, then swirl it over the surface of each shake in a loose figure-eight pattern.
- 6Crown each milkshake with a generous swirl of whipped cream that peaks above the rim.
- 7Finish with a light sprinkle of flaky sea salt over the cream and caramel to sharpen the coffee and caramel notes.
- 8Serve at once with wide straws and long spoons so drinkers can scoop the thick ice cream base and caramel pockets.
