Ingredients
- 2 ripe Korean or Asian pear
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 inch piece fresh ginger
- 1/2 lemon
- 2 tbsp scallion greens
- 3 tbsp white sesame seeds
- pinch coarse sea salt
Instructions
- 1Toast sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3 minutes until golden and fragrant. Set aside to cool.
- 2Peel and core the pears, then cut into 1/2-inch thick wedges. Place in a bowl and squeeze over the juice of half a lemon to prevent browning.
- 3Grate the ginger finely and whisk together with honey and coarse sea salt until smooth. Pour over the pear wedges and gently toss to coat.
- 4Let pears sit for 10 minutes so the honey mixture soaks in. Finely slice scallion greens.
- 5Arrange honey-soaked pear wedges on a plate, drizzle with any remaining honey-ginger liquid, and sprinkle generously with toasted sesame seeds and scallion greens.
