TrendingDessertAmericanCobbler-casseroles
Ingredients
- 2 cans (12.4 oz each) refrigerated cinnamon roll dough
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
Instructions
- 1Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9-by-13-inch baking dish so the cobbler bubbles without sticking.
- 2Open the cinnamon roll cans, set the icing packets aside, and cut each roll into 6 smaller pieces.
- 3Scatter the cinnamon roll pieces evenly across the bottom of the prepared dish in a single loose layer.
- 4In a bowl whisk the heavy cream, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla until the sugar mostly dissolves.
- 5Pour the cream mixture evenly over the cinnamon roll pieces so every piece is moistened.
- 6Dot the top with small pieces of the butter, then bake 28 to 32 minutes until the rolls are deeply golden, puffed, and the cream has thickened into a bubbling sauce the edges.
- 7While the cobbler bakes, beat the cream cheese until smooth, then mix in the powdered sugar, reserved icing packets, and milk until a thick pourable glaze forms.
- 8Remove the dish from the oven and let it stand 5 minutes so the creamy sauce settles.
- 9Drizzle the cream-cheese glaze generously over the hot cobbler so it melts into the crevices.
- 10Scoop into bowls while still warm, making sure each portion gets both fluffy roll pieces and the rich cream sauce.
