Ingredients

  • 2 cans (12.4 oz each) refrigerated cinnamon roll dough
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9-by-13-inch baking dish so the cobbler bubbles without sticking.
  2. 2Open the cinnamon roll cans, set the icing packets aside, and cut each roll into 6 smaller pieces.
  3. 3Scatter the cinnamon roll pieces evenly across the bottom of the prepared dish in a single loose layer.
  4. 4In a bowl whisk the heavy cream, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla until the sugar mostly dissolves.
  5. 5Pour the cream mixture evenly over the cinnamon roll pieces so every piece is moistened.
  6. 6Dot the top with small pieces of the butter, then bake 28 to 32 minutes until the rolls are deeply golden, puffed, and the cream has thickened into a bubbling sauce the edges.
  7. 7While the cobbler bakes, beat the cream cheese until smooth, then mix in the powdered sugar, reserved icing packets, and milk until a thick pourable glaze forms.
  8. 8Remove the dish from the oven and let it stand 5 minutes so the creamy sauce settles.
  9. 9Drizzle the cream-cheese glaze generously over the hot cobbler so it melts into the crevices.
  10. 10Scoop into bowls while still warm, making sure each portion gets both fluffy roll pieces and the rich cream sauce.
