5-Ingredient Air-Fryer Churro Bites

5-Ingredient Air-Fryer Churro Bites

Churros carry the cinnamon-sugar crunch of Spanish and Mexican street stalls into home kitchens. These air-fryer bites use pizza dough for quick golden pieces, then a butter-cinnamon coat and chocolate or caramel for dunking.

Ingredients

  • 13.8 oz can refrigerated pizza dough
  • ¼ cup, melted unsalted butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • for dipping chocolate or caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. 1Open the pizza dough and roll it out on a lightly floured surface into a rough rectangle about ¼-inch thick.
  2. 2Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut the dough into 1-inch wide strips, then cut the strips into 1- to 1½-inch bite-size pieces.
  3. 3Preheat the air fryer to 350°F for 3 minutes. Lightly mist the basket with oil or line with a perforated parchment liner.
  4. 4Working in batches so they do not touch, arrange the dough pieces in a single layer. Air-fry 5 to 7 minutes, shaking halfway, until puffed, golden, and cooked through.
  5. 5While the bites cook, stir the sugar and cinnamon together in a shallow bowl.
  6. 6As soon as each batch comes out, brush or toss the hot churro bites generously with the melted butter so every surface is coated.
  7. 7Immediately roll the buttered bites in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully covered; the sugar sticks best while they are hot.
  8. 8Transfer to a serving plate and repeat with remaining dough. Serve warm with chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping.
