Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 1 large, sliced and frozen ripe banana
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (2% or whole)
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 scoop (about 25 g) vanilla protein powder
  • 1 Tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • for garnish fresh strawberry slices

Instructions

  1. 1Add the frozen strawberries, frozen banana slices, Greek yogurt, almond milk, protein powder, honey, chia seeds, and ice cubes to a high-speed blender in that order so the liquids hit the blades first.
  2. 2Secure the lid and start blending on low for 10 seconds to break up the large frozen pieces, then ramp up to high speed. Blend 45–60 seconds until completely smooth and thick with no icy chunks remaining.
  3. 3Stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula if any fruit sticks. If the mixture is too thick to blend, add another splash of almond milk (1–2 tablespoons) and blend 10 more seconds.
  4. 4Taste and adjust sweetness with an extra drizzle of honey if needed; the banana and strawberries usually provide enough natural sugar.
  5. 5Pour the smoothie evenly into two tall chilled glasses. The texture should be spoonable yet drinkable, similar to a soft-serve milkshake.
  6. 6Garnish each glass with a few fresh strawberry slices on the rim or floating on top. Serve immediately with a wide straw or long spoon while still frosty cold.
  7. 7For meal-prep, you can freeze the fruit portions in bags the night before so weekday mornings take under 3 minutes from blender to glass.
  8. 8Rinse the blender right away with warm soapy water to prevent sticky residue from setting.
