Ingredients

  • 2 thick sourdough bread slices
  • 4 oz smoked salmon
  • 1 large ripe avocado
  • 1 tsp everything bagel seasoning
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill
  • to taste black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1Toast the sourdough slices in a toaster or under a broiler set to 400°F until deep golden and crisp on both sides, about 3 to 4 minutes total.
  2. 2While the bread toasts, halve the avocado, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a small bowl.
  3. 3Mash the avocado with a fork until mostly smooth but still slightly chunky, then stir in the lemon juice and black pepper.
  4. 4Spread the seasoned avocado mash evenly over each warm toast, reaching all the way to the crust.
  5. 5Drape the smoked salmon slices in loose folds across the avocado so they cover the surface without overlapping too thickly.
  6. 6Sprinkle the everything bagel seasoning and red pepper flakes evenly over both toasts.
  7. 7Chop the fresh dill and scatter it on top for a bright herbal finish.
  8. 8Serve immediately while the toast is still crisp; pair with coffee or a protein shake for a complete muscle-friendly morning plate.
