Ingredients
- 3 medium, sliced frozen ripe bananas
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 scoop (about 30 g) vanilla protein powder
- 3 tbsp natural peanut butter
- 1/2 cup plus more if needed unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp optional honey or maple syrup
- 1 banana fresh banana slices
- 1/2 cup granola
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries or blueberries
- 1 tbsp extra peanut butter for drizzle
- 1 tbsp cacao nibs or dark chocolate chips
Instructions
- 1Add frozen banana slices, Greek yogurt, protein powder, peanut butter, almond milk, chia seeds, and optional honey to a high-speed blender.
- 2Blend on high 45–60 seconds, stopping once to scrape down the sides, until the mixture is extremely thick, creamy, and spoonable—like soft-serve ice cream. Add milk only at a time if the blades stall; the goal is a dense base that holds toppings.
- 3Taste and adjust sweetness if needed. Divide the thick smoothie base evenly between two shallow bowls, using the back of a spoon to create a smooth surface with a slight well in the center.
- 4Arrange fresh banana slices in a neat row on one side of each bowl. Scatter granola and fresh berries across the remaining surface for color and crunch.
- 5Warm the extra tablespoon of peanut butter in the microwave for 10–15 seconds until pourable, then drizzle it in thin ribbons over both bowls.
- 6Finish with a sprinkle of cacao nibs or mini chocolate chips for bitter contrast and texture.
- 7Serve immediately with a spoon; the base softens quickly at room temperature so toppings stay crisp only for the first few minutes.
- 8For meal-prep, freeze the blended base in containers and thaw 10 minutes before topping and eating.
