Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen mango chunks
  • 1 large frozen banana slices
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened coconut milk (canned or carton)
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt or coconut yogurt
  • 1 tsp fresh or 1/2 tsp ground fresh grated turmeric or ground turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup granola
  • 1/4 cup toasted coconut flakes
  • 1/2 cup fresh mango or kiwi slices
  • 2 tsp chia seeds
  • 1/8 tsp pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1Add frozen mango, frozen banana, coconut milk, yogurt, turmeric, ginger, lime juice, honey, and the pinch of black pepper to a high-speed blender.
  2. 2Blend on high 45–75 seconds, stopping once to scrape down the sides, until the mixture is ultra-thick, completely smooth, and holds soft peaks when the blender stops—add 1–2 extra tablespoons coconut milk only if the blades stall.
  3. 3Taste and adjust sweetness or lime; the turmeric should be warm and earthy but not bitter.
  4. 4Divide the thick smoothie between two shallow bowls, using the back of a spoon to create a swirl or well in the center.
  5. 5Scatter granola evenly over half of each bowl for crunch.
  6. 6Arrange fresh mango or kiwi slices in a neat fan on the other half.
  7. 7Sprinkle toasted coconut flakes and chia seeds over the top so every spoonful gets texture.
  8. 8Serve immediately with a spoon; the bowl should be thick enough to eat slowly without melting into a drink.
