Ingredients
- 2 (100 g each) frozen unsweetened acai puree packets
- 1 cup frozen mixed berries
- 1 medium frozen banana slices
- 1/2 cup, plus more as needed unsweetened almond milk
- 1 scoop or 1/3 cup vanilla protein powder or Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1/3 cup fresh blueberries
- 1/2 cup granola
- 2 tbsp unsweetened coconut flakes
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 2 tbsp almond butter
Instructions
- 1Run the frozen acai packets under warm water for 10 seconds to loosen, then break them into chunks and add to a high-powered blender.
- 2Add the frozen mixed berries, frozen banana, almond milk, protein powder or Greek yogurt, and honey. Start blending on low, using the tamper if available, then increase to high.
- 3Blend for 45 to 90 seconds, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed, until the mixture is extremely thick and spoonable like soft-serve ice cream. Add almond milk at a time only if the blades stall; keep it as thick as possible.
- 4Taste and adjust sweetness with a little more honey if desired. The base should hold peaks and not pour easily.
- 5Divide the thick smoothie base between two shallow bowls, using the back of a spoon to create a smooth surface with a slight well in the center.
- 6Arrange the sliced strawberries and fresh blueberries in neat rows or clusters across the top of each bowl.
- 7Sprinkle the granola, coconut flakes, and chia seeds over the fruit. Finish each bowl with a generous drizzle of almond butter.
- 8Serve immediately with a spoon. The bowl softens quickly, so toppings should be added right before eating for maximum crunch contrast.
