Ingredients

  • 2 (100 g each) frozen unsweetened acai puree packets
  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries
  • 1 medium frozen banana slices
  • 1/2 cup, plus more as needed unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 scoop or 1/3 cup vanilla protein powder or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/3 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup granola
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp almond butter

Instructions

  1. 1Run the frozen acai packets under warm water for 10 seconds to loosen, then break them into chunks and add to a high-powered blender.
  2. 2Add the frozen mixed berries, frozen banana, almond milk, protein powder or Greek yogurt, and honey. Start blending on low, using the tamper if available, then increase to high.
  3. 3Blend for 45 to 90 seconds, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed, until the mixture is extremely thick and spoonable like soft-serve ice cream. Add almond milk at a time only if the blades stall; keep it as thick as possible.
  4. 4Taste and adjust sweetness with a little more honey if desired. The base should hold peaks and not pour easily.
  5. 5Divide the thick smoothie base between two shallow bowls, using the back of a spoon to create a smooth surface with a slight well in the center.
  6. 6Arrange the sliced strawberries and fresh blueberries in neat rows or clusters across the top of each bowl.
  7. 7Sprinkle the granola, coconut flakes, and chia seeds over the fruit. Finish each bowl with a generous drizzle of almond butter.
  8. 8Serve immediately with a spoon. The bowl softens quickly, so toppings should be added right before eating for maximum crunch contrast.
