Spiced Currant Bannock with Cheddar

Griddle-baked bannock laced with currants, mixed spice, and honey, served warm beside sharp cheddar. In the spirit of Currants for the Night Beggars, it recalls Allhallowtide soul cakes passed to Midland singers at the open bakehouse door.
