
Ginger-Pear Compote over Warm Sweet Rice

Ingredients
- 4 ripe pears
- 2 tbsp fresh ginger
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup sweet rice
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- 1Peel, core, and dice the pears; finely grate the ginger.
- 2Combine pears, ginger, honey, lemon juice, and cinnamon in a saucepan over medium heat.
- 3Simmer the mixture 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pears soften and liquid thickens into a compote.
- 4Meanwhile, rinse sweet rice, combine with water in a pot, bring to a boil, then cover and cook on low for 15 minutes until tender.
- 5Spoon warm sweet rice into bowls, top with ginger-pear compote, and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
