Ingredients

  • 8 pieces (about 3 lb) bone-in skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1.5 lb broccoli florets
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1.5 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce (such as Frank's)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a large rimmed sheet pan with parchment. Pat the chicken thighs very dry with paper towels so the skin can crisp.
  2. 2In a large bowl toss the chicken with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika until evenly coated.
  3. 3Arrange the thighs skin-side up on one half of the sheet pan, leaving space between pieces. Roast for 20 minutes until the skin starts to render and turn golden.
  4. 4Meanwhile, toss broccoli florets with the remaining olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  5. 5After the first 20 minutes, add the broccoli to the empty half of the pan in a single layer. Return to the oven and roast 15–18 minutes more until chicken skin is deep golden and crispy and an instant-read thermometer in the thickest part reads 175°F.
  6. 6While everything finishes, combine honey, hot sauce, butter, vinegar, and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the butter melts and the mixture simmers gently for 1 minute, then remove from heat.
  7. 7Transfer the hot chicken to a platter and immediately brush or spoon the hot honey generously over the crispy skin so it glazes and soaks in.
  8. 8Toss the roasted broccoli in any pan drippings left on the sheet, then pile it beside the chicken. Sprinkle everything with chopped parsley and serve right away with extra hot honey on the side.
