Strawberry Chocolate Ribbon Swirl Shake
Chocolate and strawberry share a long American soda-fountain romance, and this shake turns the pair into a vivid ribbon swirl. Softened chocolate ice cream meets a chunky strawberry-jam mash that ribbons through for bright, fruity contrast.

Ingredients
- 4 cups chocolate ice cream
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/3 cup chocolate syrup
- 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries
- 3 tablespoons strawberry jam
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
- 8 slices fresh strawberry slices
Instructions
- 1Hull the fresh strawberries and slice them. Set a few pretty slices aside for garnish and place the rest in a small bowl.
- 2Mash the strawberries lightly with a fork until juicy but still chunky, then stir in the strawberry jam until the mixture looks glossy and spoonable. Chill this strawberry swirl base while you build the shake.
- 3Let the chocolate ice cream sit on the counter for 5 to 8 minutes so it softens just enough to scoop smoothly without melting into soup.
- 4Add the softened chocolate ice cream, whole milk, chocolate syrup, and vanilla extract to a blender. Blend on medium speed for 20 to 30 seconds until thick, creamy, and fully combined; stop and scrape the sides once if needed.
- 5Taste the chocolate base and adjust thickness by pulsing in a splash more milk only if it is too stiff to pour. The shake should coat a spoon heavily.
- 6Drizzle a little extra chocolate syrup inside chilled tall glasses in a loose spiral pattern so it shows through the sides.
- 7Spoon a layer of the strawberry mash into each glass, then pour in half of the chocolate milkshake. Add another spoonful of strawberry mash and top with the remaining shake.
- 8Use a long spoon or butter knife to gently swirl the strawberry ribbon through the chocolate shake once or twice; do not overmix or you will lose the distinct swirl.
- 9Top each glass with a generous swirl of whipped cream, a sprinkle of mini chocolate chips, and the reserved strawberry slices.
- 10Serve immediately with wide straws and long spoons so everyone can dig into the chocolate-strawberry ribbons before they melt.
