Ingredients
- 11 oz canned mandarin oranges
- 20 oz canned pineapple tidbits
- 8 oz maraschino cherries
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
- 1 cup shredded sweetened coconut
- 1 cup sour cream
- 8 oz frozen whipped topping (thawed)
- 1/2 cup pecans (chopped, optional)
Instructions
- 1Drain the mandarin oranges, pineapple tidbits, and maraschino cherries thoroughly in a colander; pat dry with paper towels to remove excess liquid.
- 2Halve the maraschino cherries if they are large.
- 3In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained mandarin oranges, pineapple tidbits, halved cherries, mini marshmallows, shredded coconut, and chopped pecans (if using).
- 4Gently fold the ingredients together with a rubber spatula to avoid breaking up the fruit.
- 5In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the sour cream and thawed whipped topping until smooth and fully combined.
- 6Pour the creamy mixture over the fruit and marshmallow blend.
- 7Fold everything together gently until all ingredients are evenly coated with the creamy dressing.
- 8Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap.
- 9Refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight for best flavor) to allow the flavors to meld.
- 10Give the salad a gentle stir before serving.
- 11Scoop into individual bowls or serve family-style as a chilled dessert or side.
