Ingredients

  • 11 oz canned mandarin oranges
  • 20 oz canned pineapple tidbits
  • 8 oz maraschino cherries
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup shredded sweetened coconut
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 8 oz frozen whipped topping (thawed)
  • 1/2 cup pecans (chopped, optional)

Instructions

  1. 1Drain the mandarin oranges, pineapple tidbits, and maraschino cherries thoroughly in a colander; pat dry with paper towels to remove excess liquid.
  2. 2Halve the maraschino cherries if they are large.
  3. 3In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained mandarin oranges, pineapple tidbits, halved cherries, mini marshmallows, shredded coconut, and chopped pecans (if using).
  4. 4Gently fold the ingredients together with a rubber spatula to avoid breaking up the fruit.
  5. 5In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the sour cream and thawed whipped topping until smooth and fully combined.
  6. 6Pour the creamy mixture over the fruit and marshmallow blend.
  7. 7Fold everything together gently until all ingredients are evenly coated with the creamy dressing.
  8. 8Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap.
  9. 9Refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight for best flavor) to allow the flavors to meld.
  10. 10Give the salad a gentle stir before serving.
  11. 11Scoop into individual bowls or serve family-style as a chilled dessert or side.
