ThemedDessertOne-panWeight-lossAmerican
Ingredients
- 4 medium apples
- 1 1/2 cups seedless red grapes
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 pinch of sea salt
- 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
Instructions
- 1Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a medium baking dish so the fruit releases easily later.
- 2Wash the apples, halve them lengthwise, and carefully core each half without cutting through the base so they hold their shape.
- 3Toss the grapes with lemon juice, half the cinnamon, and sea salt in a bowl until glossy and lightly coated.
- 4Arrange the apple halves cut-side up in the baking dish and nestle the seasoned grapes and into the cavities.
- 5Dot the butter over the apples and grapes, then drizzle maple syrup evenly so it pools slightly in the centers.
- 6Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon, nutmeg, and chopped walnuts across the top for crunch and warm spice.
- 7Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes until the apples are tender when pierced with a fork and the grapes have softened and begun to wrinkle and caramelize.
- 8Remove from the oven, scatter fresh thyme leaves over the hot fruit, and let rest 5 minutes so the juices thicken slightly.
- 9Spoon any pan juices back over the apples before serving warm straight from the dish.
